What to see in Barcelona in 5 days – Itinerary
On the first day you can begin by visiting Barri Gotic, the historic center of the city that dates back to pre roman times. The streets are small and it has some lovely plazas.
Here you will find the Barcelona History Museum, one of the best and complete in the city. You can even walk through roman ruins located beneath the museum. There´s the Picasso Museum, which includes over 3,000 pieces of the artist so it offers a lot to see.
Then, you can move on to The Gothic Cathedral, which was built on top of an 11th century church. It has an elevator so you can go up to the top of the roof and enjoy an amazing view of the place.
Another recomendation is the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, that has hundreds of exhibits most from spanish artists.
To finish this journey, you may want to stop by Parc de la Ciutadella, a beautiful walk through the streets. It´s famous because of the art pieces in it and its fountains designed by GaudÃ, of course. It also has a zoo inside the park if you like animals too.
On the second day you could try with a food tour. As you must know Barcelona is one of the most popular food cities in Spain so you better be part of this.
You can enjoy in one of the several cafes and restaurants or go to the local market and delight with what it has to offer.
After that, you can relax a while and visit the amazing beaches, specially if you´re traveling on the warm months! It’s the perfect time and place to get an enviable tan.
Getting to the middle
The third day can be dedicated to GaudÃand its remarkable contribution to local architecture.

If you are lucky enough to be here on a Thursday, on this day at the Plaça d’Espanyayou´ll enjoy the fountains and lights that line the street towards Montjuïc Hill. At the end is the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc, which puts on a spectacular light – and – water show really worth to see.
Moving on to the fourth day, you can stop by the harbor cable car, this 1450-meter-long harbor aerial tramway connects Montjuïc and Barceloneta; going from near the beach to Montjuïc Hill.
Once you arrive there you will enjoy the most incredible view of the city and can visit the Castell de Montjuïc, the gardens and even an Olympic stadium.
Later, don´t miss the chance to visit the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunyathat includes a wide variety of pieces of the regional art. It’s the perfect spot to take beautiful pictures of the city.
The perfect end
Last but not least, on the fifht day, you should be relaxed and enjoy the city, you will need to slow down a little bit from previous days and stop the rush for a while.
Here some things you can do: visit the beach again, eat in those places you saw but didn´t have time before, buy the souvenirs or handmade articles you want to take back home, see a soccer match at Camp Nou…
