What do I need to rent a Vespa?

To have a nice Vesping Experience you need:

  • Previous experience driving a scooter/motorbike;

  • Valid passport or identity card;

  • Credit card or cash to pay the security deposit

What driver's license do I need to rent a Vespa?

According to the Spanish law the following driving licenses are valid to drive:

  • Vespa 50cc. European Driving License: AM, A, A1, A2, B. International Driving License: A, B

  • Vespa 125cc. European Driving License: A, A1, A2. International Driving License: A

  • Vespa 300cc. European Driving License: A, A2. International Driving License: A

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes, when you arrive at Vesping, you will be asked to leave a security deposit. The same is payable by credit card, debit card* or cash. The full amount of this deposit will be refunded if you return the scooter and the accessories in the same original conditions. (mandatory “Vesping Care”).

  • 300€ for the Vespa 50cc

  • 400€ for the Vespa 50cc Comfort

  • 500€ for the Vespa 125cc

  • 800€ for the Vespa 300cc

Will I get my money back in case of a cancellation?

Yes, cancellations are possible and free of charge up to 48 hours prior to the agreed date. For any cancellation made in the 48 hours before the agreed date you will be refunded the amount of the booking less 30%. In case of exceptional bad weather, will be totally refunded!

Is the scooter easy to drive?

Yes, it is easy as all our Vespas are automatic (no gears). However, a prior scooter or motorbike driving experience is required. For safety reasons we strongly discourage people without experience to rent a scooter in a foreign country. Our goal at Vesping is to provide only nice experiences!

What will happen if I make a booking and I don't have driving experience?

For safety reasons, Vesping cannot rent a scooter to people who don't have enough driving experience with a two wheeled vehicle (scooter/motorbike). If you book a vespa and you don't have a driving licence or don't have the experience to drive a scooter, you cannot be refunded.

What does the insurance cover?

The insurance covers damages against third parties, driver and passenger health assistance. An additional insurance ("Vesping Care") is available to limit the amount to be paid in case of crash or theft. This extra insurance is on the name of the driver and is not valid if the driver doesn't have prior experience of scooter/motorbike experience or if he/she let drive unauthorized persons. This extra insurance don't cover the accessories.

How can I pay?

You can pay by credit or debit cards, Paypal or cash.

What will happen if I make a booking and I don't have driving experience?

For safety reasons, Vesping cannot rent scooter Barcelona to people who don't have enough driving experience with a two wheeled vehicle (scooter/motorbike). If you book a vespa and you don't have a driving licence or don't have the experience to drive a scooter, you cannot be refunded.

Can I use the Tomtom for destinations other than the pre-programmed tours?

Yes, of course! Our satellite navigators for motorcycles not only contain pre-programmed tours, but they will also take you where you want, petrol stations, back to Vesping etc.

Do I need to refill the Vespa?

We don't ask you to return the scooter with a full tank. However if you run out of gas during your tour, please use unleaded petrol 95.

Where can I park the Vespa?

You can only park in specific areas marked with white lines. Outside of these areas, you can follow what locals do in the city as long as you do it with a common sense. In that case, you'll have a lot more possibilities to park!

Can two people use one scooter?

Yes, any type of vespa we have, can welcome up to two people.

Where can I drive?

You can go wherever you like in Barcelona, as long as you respect Spanish laws. Please note that 50cc scooters are not allowed on the highway (Ronda), motorway (Autopista) and on bus lanes.

Where can I collect the Vespa?

You can collect your Vespa at our Vesping store located in Passatge Simó 24-26, near the Sagrada Familia.

Opening times: APR-OCT from 9:30 to 20:00 and NOV-MAR from 10:00 to 19:00. Delivery and pick up at your hotel/house are available upon request.

What is the speed limit?

Barcelona has different speed limits for different areas. However, in the city, speed is limited to 50km/h.
