Reach the highest point of Barcelona, the view from here is amazing!
Parc del Laberint d’Horta
Designed in 1792 by the Italian Domenico Bagutti in the Horta-Guinardó district, the Parc del Laberint d’Horta named after the labyrinth it contains is the oldest park of Barcelona. Divided in two parts, a neoclassic and a romantic one, hosting neoárabe and neoclassical monuments (don’t miss the Soberana Tower, “Torre Soberana†in spanish, an old countryhouse), mythological sculptures and even a chinese doorway, the charming park is full of surprises in every corner!
Basilica del Tibidabo
The Tibidabo Basilica is located on the Sierra de Collserola Mountain, more than 500 meters above Barcelona. The top of the church’s main tower is topped by a bronze sculpture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus blessing the city below by Josep Miret Llopart which was placed in 1961. It offers a spectacular view over Barcelona and the surrounding coastline.
Monestir de Pedralbes
The monastery of Pedralbes is probably one of the best examples of Catalan Gothic in Barcelona. Founded by Queen Elisenda de Montcada, this monastery is still taken care of by nuns. It has a three-storey cloister and a precious garden inside the monastery. Visiting the monastery, you’ll discover the apsis of the church, several utility rooms, the dining room, the old kitchen, etc.
