The new Encants Vell (“old charms” in catalan)have opened its doors on September the 25th!
The flea market is now located just few steps far from the old location, in the Eixample district, on the old site of the”Bosquet dels Encants”.
The market, known as Mercat-Fira de Bellcaire is the oldest market of Barcelona, it was established on 1928.
With its futuristic architecture counts with a surface area of 33.306m2, (more than the double of the old one) and hosts 247 establishments. It is not an open air market anymore but it keep this “outdoor market” idea thanks to a high roof and no exterior walls.
Being a “no-food market” here you can find old books, records, furnitures, toys, pet supplies and more! Also interesting it’s the new auction activity which can convert you in a local bidder to get the perfect deal!
Of course, in this new building you will find services such as bar, restaurants and restrooms, something that in the old structure was like a dream.
It also provides with 300 parking places. Perfect if you come by car and buy a lot of things!
