Montserrat has no reason to be jealous of the beautiful Mediterranean sea. It was declared National Park in 1987 to guarantee its conservation. Its particular forms, unique over the worlds award it its name Montserrat, the serrated mountain.
The National Park hosts a monastery since the 11th century where still live 80 monks. Visit inside the “Moreneta”, the Black Virgin, the Catalonia patron saint.

How to get there?
Train
Take the train from the Plaça de Espanya railway station (located on the red and green metro lines). Once you are in the station, look for the R5, direction Manresa.
Warning: the station is pretty huge, arrive in advance, you will certainly have to walk through it to find the R5 line!
