The “Conjunt Monumental Plaça del Rei” (Monumental Set) is not only composed of the History Museum, located in the old medieval house Casa Padellàs, but also of medieval buildings like the Palau Reial Major which was the kings’ house, Santa Agata church, the Great Hall and the King Marti’s watchtower.
2,000 years of history below the Barcelona’s ground
The History Museum invites you to a trip through Barcelona’s history. Discover objects from the neolithic era till today but also scuptures, architectural elements and other daily life features.
A visit in the museum basement allows you to walk on the street of the old “Barcino”, the Roman old Barcelona! Enter into a II century dry cleaner, observe the old remparts and visit a garum factory, a sauce made with fish waste.

Notice that every Barcelona’s museum is free the first Sunday of each month.
The entrance to the history museum is free each Sunday from 3pm on.
