The ruins of the Temple d’August were discovered at the end of the 19th century during the construction of the Centre Excursionista de Catalunya.
This temple is said to be dedicated to Augustus, the Romain emperor. At that time, it was 37 meters tall and 17 meters large, with six columns on the front part.
Nowadays, only four remains, hidden in a medieval patio.
The Augustus Temple is a part of the MUHBA, the Barcelona History Museum.

The temple is closed on January 1st, May 1st, June 24th and December 25th.
